Cérémonie de la RAFA à la Basilique de Koekelberg

L'hommage de la R.A.F.A. à la Basilique du Sacré-Coeur

* Samedi 28 septembre 2013, une cérémonie d'hommage aux aviateurs de la RAF ainsi qu'à tous ceux, qui de près ou de loin ont aidé les soldats alliés pendant les années de guerre en 1940 - 1945.

Les représentants des associations d'escadrons, d'associations ayant dans leurs objectifs le maintien du souvenir des héros de la RAF, ainsi que les représentants des associations qui ont oeuvré à l'évacuation des soldats alliés vers l'Angleterre étaient invitées par Ground Captain Monsieur Richard Witthingham, Président de la R.A.F.A. à assister à la cérémonie d'inauguration de la plaque de mémoire, dans la chapelle dédiée à la R.A.F., dans la Basilique du Sacré coeur de Koekelberg, à Bruxelles. La cérémonie s'est faite sous le haut patronage de l'Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper et du Chef de la Défense, le Général aviateur Gerard Van Caelenberge.

La 550th Squadron North Killingholme Association était représentée par Wilfred Burie qui a déposé une gerbe. Guy De Braeckeleer, Président de l'A.M.R. a aussi déposé une gerbe pour l'association.

* On Saturday, September 28th, 2013, a ceremony of tribute to the airmen of the R.A.F as well as to all those, who closely or remotely helped the allied soldiers during the war years in 1940 - 1945.

The representatives of the associations of squadrons, associations having in their objectives the preservation of the memory of the heroes of the R.A.F., as well as the representatives of the associations who worked in the evacuation of the allied soldiers towards England were invited by Ground Captain Sir Richard Witthingham, President of the R.A.F.A. to attend the inaugural ceremony of the plaque of memory, in the chapel dedicated to R.A.F., in the Basilica of the Sacred heart of Koekelberg, in Brussels. The ceremony was made under the high patronage of the Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper and of the Chief of Defence, Air General Gerard Van Caelenberge.

The 550th Squadron North Killingholme association was represented by Wilfred Burie who laid a wreath. Guy De Braeckeleer, President of the A.M.R. also offer a wreath for the association.
