The Association
Objectives
The Association of the Memorial of Rebecq has for main object maintain in municipal schools the memory of the sacrifice of people of Rebecq’s villages
in wars 14-18 and 40-44. Our vision is to do participate one or several classes of pupils in the ceremonies that we plan to establish one day during the
school year, and it in a recurring way. It would be, in dialogue with the directions of schools and the members of the teaching staffs to choose a date
which would not fall during a weekend or during a bank holiday: the second Wednesday of every May would be the ideal date.
The pupils participating in the ceremony will have had the visit from one or several members of the Association delegated to explain them this part of our
history and allow, by this way, their awakening to the notions of the History, the moral and citizenship values that inspire the facts explained and the duty of Memory.
This activity will be made in narrow dialogue with the municipal authorities, in partnership with the authorities and associations were closely or by far
involved in this objective: the Historical and Genealogy Association of Rebecq, patriotic associations of the Rebecq’s entity, the Cultural Center of Rebecq.
Besides this first purpose, the Association will strive to maintain the memory of the persons involved in the historic facts which led to the erection
of the Memorial of Rebecq. It will also maintain the contacts and the friendly relations with the patriotic groups, as well as with the associations and
the authorities with which the Association is bound: the 550th Squadron RAF North Killingholme Association, the Royal British Legion, the Military Command
of the Province of Walloon Brabant, the 1st Wing de Beauvechain, etc.
Another aspect of the activities of the Association will be the organization of excursions with themes and visits of sites, museums, etc., organized
for the members.

Means
The Association is independent, and as such, it does not receive subsidies of official authorities.
Its financial resources result from the product of the sale of the membership cards, from the sale of badges with the emblem of the Association,
from profits generated by the associative meals which it will organize, of donations and occasional sponsoring, etc.
