Les faits - The facts

550 Squadron committed nineteen plane and crews, intended to bombard the oil factory making some synthetic fuel to Sterkade on the edge of the Northwest of the Ruhr. All the planes took off without incident, but one of them (P/O Beeson) was forced to abandon shortly after takeoff, due of an engine failure. The outward journey was made in cloudy conditions. Once arrived on the target, bombs were droped, but because of the visibility, some of them did not reach the target. During the route of return, the squadron has sudden the attacks of the German air-fighting. Three planes were touched, of which the LM134-BQ-H which crashed to Rehnen, between Utrecht and Nijmegen.
