Le lendemain de la cérémonie, Jack Harris, Angella Thomson, Sue et Andrew Etherington ont visité le cimetière de Wevelgem afin de rendre hommage aux membres de l'équipage du Lancaster LL 810-BQ-K tombé à Lichtervelde le 28 mai 1944. Filip Van Devyvere, Président du Heemkundige Kring Lichtervelde (le cercle d'histoire de Lichtervelde) nous attendait. Ensemble, nous nous sommes rendus devant les tombes des sept aviateurs.
Avant de déposer une gerbe, Jack a souligné qu'il y avait, jour pour jour, 71 ans que ces jeunes hommes avait fait le sacrifice suprême pour notre liberté. Par après, nous nous sommes dirigés vers Lichtervelde, où Filip Van Devyvere nous a montré l'endroit où l'avion s'est crashé.
C'est à cet endroit que l'on espère faire ériger un Mémorial à la mémoire des sept héros du LL 810-BQ-K, l'an prochain.

The day after the ceremony, Jack Harris, Angella Thomson, Sue and Andrew Etherington visited the cemetery of Wevelgem to pay tribute in the crew members of the Lancaster LL 810-BQ-K fallen to Lichtervelde on May 28th, 1944. Filip Van Devyvere, Chairman of the Heemkundige Kring Lichtervelde (the historical association of Lichtervelde) waited for us. Together, we went in front of the graves of seven airmen.
Before lay a wreath, Jack underlined that, to the day, 71 years ago these young men had made the supreme sacrifice for our freedom. Later, we went to Lichtervelde, where Filip Van Devyvere showed us the place where the plane crashed.
It is this place that we hope to make set up a Memorial to the memory of seven heroes of LL810-BQ-K, next year.
